What is this describing?
Autoimmune disease resulting in a medium-sized vessel vasculitis. Typically affects children younger than 5-years old, with a peak incidence at 10 months of age.

What is this a presentation of?
High-grade fever lasting more than 5 days, resistance to antipyretics. Strawberry tongue, bright red cracked lips. Bilateral conjunctival infection. Red hands and feet which later peel. Diffuse rash. Cervical lymphadenopathy.

What is the main complication of Kawasaki disease?
Coronary artery aneurysm development can lead to myocardial infarction and arrhythmias.
How is Kawasaki disease diagnosed?
- Clinically
- Raised CRP and ESR
- Echocardiograph
The management for Kawasaki disease?
- Aim is to prevent coronary artery aneurysms, IV Igs.
2. High dose aspirin despite the risk of Reye’s syndrome.
