What are the steps for paediatric basic life support?
A
- Assess for danger and remove you and child from danger.
- Response - shout in both ears, trap squeeze.
- Shout for help
- Head tilt, chin lift
- 5 rescue breaths first
- If still not breathing - 15 chest compressions : 2 rescue breaths

How should you do chest compressions in children and at what age do you start using the adult method?
A
- 1 hand for compressions
2. >8 years old

What should you do in a child if the chest does not rise after you give rescue breaths?
A
- Consider respiratory obstruction
- Do 5 intrascapular back blows with child on lap, then 5 more rescue breaths.
- If nothing still and child >1 year old, position supine and give 5 abdominal thrusts.
