What is Moro’s reflex and when is it present?
- Supine baby dropped and caught, abduction and extension of arm, opening of hands, adduction of arms and crying.
- Birth to 5 months
What is the rooting reflex and when is it present?
- Stroke baby cheek, turns head towards stimulus and starts suckling.
- Birth to 4 months
What is the stepping reflex and when is it present?
- Hold baby up, sole of foot touching ground, leg prances as if walking.
- Birth to 2 months
What is Galant’s reflex (truncal incurvation) and when is it present?
- Baby held in ventral suspension, fingertip down each side of back, spine flexion to stimulated side.
- Birth to 8 months
What is the palmar grasp reflex and when is it preent?
- Place finger onto palm/sole, flexion of fingers/toes around finger.
- Birth to 5 months
What is the asymmetrical tonic neck reflex and when is it present?
- Baby supine, turn head to one side, extension of arm and leg on that side, flexion on opposite side.
