When you activate the low pressure CARDOX system locally (break the glass) what are the major drawbacks?
- there is no pre-timer => must ensure no personel are in area because they will have no time to evacuate
- there is no sequence timer => must stay at actuator to turn off CARDOX after appropriate time or whole system will dump into room
What are the different ways to actuate the High Press CARDOX system?
- Auto - via temperature switch
- Manual - via control room or remote pushbutton
- Manual - via “grenade” or manual pilot cylinder
- Manual - via local valve manipulation
What are some safety concerns of the CARDOX system?
- CO2 displaces O2 and can cause suffocation
- CO2 is very cold and can cause burns
