What is the antenatal treatment for iron deficiency anaemia (IDA)?
The antenatal treatment for IDA is 100-200mg oral iron (ferrous sulphate) for IDA, defined by Hb <110g/l in the 1st trimester, <105g/l in the 2nd/3rd trimester, and <100g/l postpartum.
When should Hb be re-checked after starting oral iron for IDA?
Hb should be re-checked in 2-3 weeks after starting oral iron.
How long should oral iron be continued once Hb is in the normal range?
