Cholecystitis
causes RUQ pain radiating to the right shoulder, while pancreatitis causes LUQ
pain radiating to the back.
Following a cholecystectomy,
early ambulation
reduces shoulder pain caused by retained laparoscopic gas.

keep NPO until gag reflex returns.

abdominal rigidity or rebound tenderness to
the HCP. Abdominal guarding
High fever
Immediately report
life-threatening pancreatitis
complications to the HCP, including ARDS and hypocalcemia.
Acute respiratory distress syndrome:
Dyspnea, tachypnea
Hypoxemia
Crackles, wheezing
