Q

What is the occurs during the removal of urea?

A
  • Liver creates substance, urea
  • This passes through the blood into the kidney
  • The kidney removes this urea from the blood and the body
  • Parts of kedney nephron, glomerulus and Bownmans capsules, act as filter
  • Blood comes under high pressure seperating the urea and unwanted protein and blood continues around body

Q

What is the occurs during ultrafiltration?

A
  • Blood enters glomerulus at high pressure
  • High pressure causses plasma forced out through capillary walls into bowmans capsule
  • Due to speed its ultrfiltration
  • This removes water, nutrient and water, leaving blood proteins and cells behind

Q

What is the occurs during reabsorption?

A
  • Molecules and ions will be reabsorped into the circulatory system
  • Fluid passes through components of nephron as water and ions are removed
  • In collecting duct, secretion will occur, before fluid leaves ureter

Q

What is the occurs during osmoregulation?

A
  • Controls water leves and minerall ions in blood
  • Water levels & mineral ions in the blood are controlled to keep concentrations the same inside he cells around them
  • This protects cells by stopping too much water frmo entering/leaving them by osmosis

Q

What is the occurs during regulations of water levels?

A
  • Blood transported to kidney through renal artery, blood is filtred at high pressure, kidney selectively reabsorbs useful materials. After purified blood returns to circulatory system
  • Kindey produces urine, this maintains water balance.
