- Beinf non-judgemental: Not making assumptions
- Respecting the views, choices and decisions of individuals who require care and support: Individuals feeling valued and supported
- Anti-discriminatory practice: All service users should be treated fairly
- Valuing diversity: Accepting and respecting differences by seeing everyone as a unique individual
- Using effective communication: Using vocab that is understood and age appropriate
- Following agreed ways of working: Following organisation policies and procedures so care provided is correct and safe
- Training and professional development opportunities for staff: Ensures staff are aware of the correct procedures
- Mentoring, monitofing and performance management of staff: An experienced person shares knowledge and skills with another to help them develop
- Attending staff meetings to discuss issue/practice: Concerns can be shared & issues raised
