Unit4- 1.7~ Formation of tissues fluid and lymph Flashcards
1
Q
How is tissue fluid formed?
A
Hydrostatic pressure from blood forces water and solutes out of capillaires into spaces between cells carrying oxygen and nutrients to cells to remove waste
2
Q
How is Lymph formed?
A
Some tissue fluid doesnt re-enter capillaries, instead it drains into lymph vessels. The fluid is now called lymph. Lymph vessels have large pores allowing large molecules
3
Q
Explain the lymph transport.
A
Musce contractions move lymph through the lymph vessels. Lymph passes through lymph nodes to filter pathogenss, eventually re-entering the bloodstream through their veins near the heart.
