Q

Structures to mention

A

Ovarium:

  • Hilus ovarii (Attachent of mesovarium and entvance of ovarian vessels)
  • Facies medialis
  • Facies lateralis
  • Fossa ovarii (eq) (Depression on the free border where ovulation occurs)
  • Margo mesovaricus (End nearer to the infundibulum tubae)
  • Extremitas tubaria (End nearer to the infundibulum tubae)
  • Extremitas uterina (End attached to the uterus by lig. ovarii proprium)
  • Margo limitans peritonei (Terminal border of the peritoneum. The line of attachment of the mesovarium to the ovary)
  • Tunica albuginea (White capsule of the ovary)
  • Cortex ovarii [= Zona parenchymatosa]
  • Medulla ovarii [= Zona vasculosa]
  • Stroma ovarii (Connective tissue of the ovary)
  • Folliculi ovarici
  • Corpus luteum (Yellow body)
  • Corpus albicans (White body, remaining after degeneration of corpus luteum)
  • Lig. ovarii proprium (Covered with peritoneum between extremitas uterina ovarii → apex of the uterine horn)
  • Lig. suspensorium ovarii (Free border of the mesovarium)
  • Mesovarium (Part of lig. latum attached to the ovary)
    • Mesovarium proximale (From abdominal wallmesosalpinx)
    • Mesovarium distale (From mesosalpinxovary)
  • Bursa ovarica (Cavity enclosed by mesosalpinx, distal mesovarium and ovary)

Tuba uterina:

  • Ostium abdominale tubae uterinae (Abdominal opening of tuba uterina in infudibulum)
  • Infundibulum tubae uterinae (Funnel shaped ovarian end of the tube)
    • Fimbriae tubae (Fringe processes around the opening of infundibulum)
  • Ampulla tubae uterinae (Wide part from the abdominal opening to the isthmus)
  • Isthmus tubae uterinae (Narrow portion leading to uterus)
  • Pars uterina (eq, ca) (Part of the tube in the wall of the uterus in distinct and ends on a papilla)
  • Ostium uterinum tubae (Uterine orifice of the tube)
  • Mesosalpinx

Ovaries

Give the layers

A
  • Tunica albuginea
    • Outermost layer
    • Dense white capsule
  • Cortex: Zona parechymetosa
    • Contains follicles and corpus luteum
  • Medulla: Zona vasvulosa
    • Central
    • Contains blood vesses, nerves and lymphatics
