“works are merely the fruits and signs of justification’ let him be anathema”
What is anathema?
Let him be loaded, cursed for going against doctrine and religious belief
What was the key point of Protestants rejecting apocryphal?
Believed they were useless and catholics responded by saying they were needed for salvation, needed for works
What is the point for the doctrine of substantiation?
The protestants said it is symbolic, the bread and wine aren’t literal interpreations
the Catholics argued it is reality, it is a heresy to say it is not
What is the point about protestants saying sola scripture without the apocryphal?
they are 2 special sources of special revelation, importance of the pope/voice of god
to deny practices and doctrines for 1500 years is a celbbesay
What did the council do about the indulgences?
They reformed the indulgences but still kept them as the pope would be under bad suspicion as he is supposedly the voice of god

Place of purgatory was for people with venial sins

What are venial sins?
Sins that dont result in complete separation with god
What is the pope grgerogry calendar?
A calendar tried to be appointed to make easter more consistent which wad rejected by the proetsantns to reduce leap years fro, 100-97 it then became on elf the most accepted in the world
What is the council of Trent today?
It has never been revoked, this teachings still stand and theres still complete separation amongst the portesnants and catholics
