What does the Psalm 119:105-112 mean?

A

God’s commandments should never become old we should always abide by them, must be a forever relationship. The chapter says without God we would be in total darkness and without God’s knowledge we wouldn’t be capable of anything. :your word is a lame to my feet and a light to my path” God’s word is a light in our path that we follow, drives us from sin and destruction.

What is the formation of the canon?

A

Comes from the greek “kanwn” Means a measuring ruler, used by masons and carpenters, rule or straightness. The word was used as a rule. The terms canon and canonical came to be applied to the catalogue or list of sacred books- which were gods inspired word

Why did the church only just finalise the canon of the New Testament at the end of the 4th century?

A

Only used the books they knew were sacred; the Hebrew bible. Christians supplemented these books with the preaches of the apostles and sayings of Jesus. Then the sayings of Jesus over time turned into scriptures.

What is the tanahkh?

A

In the early church only scriptures that were written were Jewish. When Jesus or his disciples say they’re not talking about the chirstain bible. They mean their scriptures- the tanakh. Similar to the chsitian Old Testament.
