It is part of the process of redemption, seen as the washing away from sin, an initiation into the christian community and the kingdom of god

What is augustines view on baptism?
Follows Paul’s view on baptism in the book of romans; Adam brought sin into the world through his disobedience. Sin brings about death literally and spiritually.
Jesus came into the world without sin and he didl but he was sinless and his death resulted in the new resurrection.

What is anabaptism?
Baptising again… those who were baptised as an infant should be baptised again in order to conform with he practice of the New Testament
