Q

Describe The Steps That Occur In Thrombosis
(5 Points)

A

~ Thromboplastin is released from the damaged blood vessel.

~ Thromboplastin and calcium ions from the plasma, trigger the conversion of soluble prothrombin protein into the enzyme thrombin.

~ Thrombin then catalyses the conversion of the soluble protein fibrinogen to the insoluble protein fibrin.

~ The fibrin fibres then form a mesh and tangle together, causing platelets and RBCs get trapped in.

~ Blood clot is then formed.

Q

How Can Blood Clots Cause Heart Attacks?
(2 Points)

A
