What is the definition of radiation ?
A
There are 2 types of radiation heat transference:
- Radiation - Radiation is created when infrared waves from a hot object pass directly onto food. E.g toasting bread in a salamander
- Electromagnetic radiation - Electromagnetic radiation is created in microwave ovens e.g Melting butter

What are specific examples of methods that use radiation ?
A
That relies on radiated heat grilling.
- When making bruschetta the toasting of bread used radiation within the salamander
- Open flame is radiation e.g. roasting a marshmallow, blow torch on creme brulee
