What are key nursing responsibilities when a patient is on magnesium sulfate?
Monitor fetal status and assess for toxicity
What are signs of magnesium toxicity?
Flushing, decreased urine output, hypotension, loss of deep tendon reflexes
What is the first intervention for magnesium toxicity?
Stop the magnesium sulfate infusion

Calcium gluconate
