Adenocarcinoma

Endocrine carcinomas?
A
Gastrinoma: produces gastrin, increases stomach acid, PUDx
Insulinoma: produces insulin, encourages sugar uptake and storage, hypoglycaemia
Glucagonoma: Produces glucagon, increases serum blood sugars, hyperglycaemia

Smokers

A
Jaundice Steatorrhoea Dark urine Weight loss Back pain

Diagnosis?
A
Blood tests US Triple phase CT MRI and MRCP Endoscopic US

Management if inoperable?
A
Inoperable: ERCP to PC and stent insertion, decompress obstructed biliary ducts

Management if operable?
A
Laparoscopy and staging ERCP stent, resection and palliative bypass

Q
Prognosis?
A
Poor survival
