What is it?
A
Dilation of the lymphatics as a primary condition or secondary due to lymphatic obstruction (malignancy or constructive pericarditis)

How does it present?
A
Hypoproteinaemia with ankle oedema
Steatorrhoea

How is it diagnosed?
A
Jejunal biopsy- primary form, dilated lacteals
Capsule endoscopy: white tipped villi
Serum immunoglobulin: reduced, low circulating lymphocytes

How is it treated?
A
Low fat diets
Fat soluble vitamins supplements and mid chain triglyceride supplements
Octreotide: good effect on primary cases
