Flagellated protozoa infection which invade the duodenum and proximal jejunum

How does it present?
A
Watery, malodourous diarrhoea
Bloating, flatulence
Abdominal cramps
Wt loss

Diagnosed by?
A
Stool microscopy for cysts
(PCR tests in MEDC)
OGD for duodenal biopsy (rarely necessary)

Metronidazole
