What is a medically supervised detox?
Medication to help with detox symptoms, used for more severe symptoms
What is a social detox?
Support from counselors and medical staff to monitor progress and assistance for mild symptoms
What is inpatient treatment?
Treatment units in hospitals and clinics and lives there
Mainly for those with mental or medical disorders with addiction
Detox and rehabilitation for adolescents
What is residential treatment?
Can last 1-12 months or longer
Living environment with services not associated with hospitals or clinics
Career training, job seeking skills, and GED prep
What is partial hospitalization/day treatment?
Treatment for 4-8 hrs a day in a hospital or clinic but live at home
Last for 3 or more months
What is intensive outpatient/outpatient treatment?
Meets in evenings and weekends with attendance requirements
Provided at program, but lives at home
Intensive - Meets 9-20 hrs/week for around 2-12 months
What are opioid treatment programs?
Outpatient treatment medically assisted
Medication (methadone) used to stop patients from using opioids
Counseling and other services
