What is a fad diet?

Eliminates carbs and replaces with foods high in protein and fat

What is a liquid diet?

Needs a balance of nutrients
Missing nutrients can cause dizziness, nausea, and weakness
Lack of fiber -> constipation

Don’t eat

Dehydration will occur
Potassium deficiency
Compromised internal organ function

Reducing stomach size through stapling/banding

Block nutrients absorption in the small intestine
