Oestrus synchronization?
Oestrus synchronization
- First step of group wise reproduction management
- Precondition to producing homogenous piglets and fattening pigs
- Selection of puberal gilts, oestrus detection and oestrus record
- Puberal gilts at different cycle days – group wise breeding
- Cycle modification- gilts at same cycle day
- Usually used on large scale farms to increase affectivity and therefore decrease overall production costs
o (feeding, management, animal health, buildings, automatization)
