As standards of living are raised this will lead to increased water demand

Still need by 20% more water due to the increase in demand

Conflicts: locally, nationally and global
Why is where water is found an issue?
66% of the worlds population lives in areas receiving only 25% of the worlds annual rainfall
What is water insecurity?
Lack of access to safe and affordable water
When does water scarcity occur?
When annual supply of water per person drops below 1000m*3
What is physical scarcity?
When there is little water available to use or store
What is economic scarcity? (water)
When the development of adequate blue water sources is limited by lack of capital and technology
