Safety Injection Flashcards
What gives a SI Signal?
- Pressurizer Low Pressure - 1775 psig (2/3)
- Containment Pressure High - 1.0 psig (2/3)
- S/G Press Low - 500 psig (1/1 on 2 S/G)
- S/G Diff Press 1 S/G 100 psid lower than 2 others (2/3)
A SI Signal also gives what else?
- Phase A
- CVI
- FWI
What Equipment gets autostart signals on a SI Signal?
- EDG
- CCPs
- SI Pumps
- RHR Pumps
- CCW Pumps
- MDAFPs
- NESW Pumps
- Both units ESW Pumps
- Both units CRP Fans
- AES Fans
Which valves close on a SI Signal in the Charging System?
- CCW to LD Hx
- VCT Outlet Valves QMO-451/452 after suction source is realigned.
- CCP ELOs for 2 secs then look at pressure
- Charging Header Iso Valves QMO-200/201
Which valves open on a SI Signal in the Charging System?
- RWST Suction to CCPs IMO-910/911
- BIT Inlet Valves IMO-255/256
- BIT Outlet Valves ICM-250/251
How do the CCW Hx Outlet valves change on a SI Signal?
Open
How do the ESW from CCW Hx Outlet valves change on a SI Signal?
Throttle Open to ~ 5500 gpm
How do the CCW from RHR Hx Outlet valves change on a SI Signal?
Throttle Open to ~ 3000 gpm
What are the auto actions on the ECCS Systems on a SI?
- CCPs autostart
- Charging pump realigns to RWST
- CCP ELOs close for 2 secs
- Charging header isolates
- BIT valves open
- SI pumps start
- RHR pumpms start
- Accumulator outlet valves get open signal
Is the CCW to the RHR Hx actually needed for the initial injection phase ?
No. It’s actually a flow path to protect the CCW pump on the SI so flow has some where to go.
How will the CRP system realign on a SI?
Damper 1, normal outside air closes
Damper 2, alternate outside air part opens
Damper 3, recirc stays open
