Echocardiograpy Images Flashcards
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal long axis
Abnormalities:
- Left ventricle dilated, possible LA dilation also?
- Valves look thickened and knobbly valve leaflets
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•M mode from a right parasternal short axis
Abnormalities:
- Chronic mitral valvular disease
- Contractility looks okay but can see splashes of ‘regurgitation’?
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•M mode from a right parasternal short axis
Abnormalities:
- Poor contractility
- Myocardial disease - dilated cardiomyopathy?
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal short axis with aorta in the middle
Abnormalities:
- Looks normal, all 3 valve leaflets and cusps are symmetrical
- Auricular appendage looks more like tadpole not slug
- LA also the correct size
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal long axis
Abnormalities:
- Valve leaflets look thickened and knobbly
- LA looks dilated
- Possibility of ‘smoke’ in atrium, where blood has regurgitated from the ventricle through disease valves.
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal long axis
Abnormalities:
- Advanced chronic degenerative valvular disease
- Effusion present
- Huge left atria, small pericardial effusion in far field
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal long axis
Abnormalities:
- Looks like flailing valve – valvular disease?
- Systolic Anterior Motion of Mitral Valve (SAM)?
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal long axis Doppler view
Abnormalities:
•Jet of regurgitation confirm mitral regurgitation
What is the view and abnormality?
Felix the cat
View:
•Think it should be a right parasternal short axis??
Abnormalities:
- Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy (HCM)
- External diameter remains normal, but lumen is tiny
- LV lumen small and hypertrophy of wall
- Atria are absolutely massive
What is the view and abnormality?
View:
•Right parasternal short axis
Abnormalities:
- Thick myocardium
- Hyperechoic
- Irregular endomyocardial border
