war in rejection to the Algerian one-party rule that was bloody and ended in many dead.

The communist leader of North Vietnam wh united the country in opposition to re-occupation from France

South Vietnamese soldiers who supported the communists and fought against US troops in the Vietnam War
Gamal Abdar Nassel
Egyptian general who helped overthrow the Egyptian king and establish the Republic of Egypt. H was also its second president. He was good, he instituted land and other reforms.
Suez Crisis
Egypt invaded the canal, which was on their land but still under French control. Israel invaded on behalf of Britain and France, and European countries occupied the area in the name of “peace.” The US and USSR opposed this and with the UN made it an international waterway under Egyptian sovereignty.
Biafran Civil War
Nigeria gained independence from Britain and then broke out into civil war based on tribal lines and attempted succession. It remains one state now split into smaller states.
Quiet Revolution
People in Quebec aligned with Britain while the rest of Canada aligned with France, reforms and liberal reforms over the 1960s helped unify the nation
