Muhammad Reza Pahlavi
puppet shah of Iran selected by the Soviets during WW2. He was briefly removed after the war before being re-instated by the US and GB. He was actually a decent shah, if a fascist, and through the White Revolution allowed for women’s rights and land reforms.
Mohammad Mosaddegh
democratically elected prime minister of Iran after WW2. He was removed from power by the US and Great Britain when he tried to nationalize oil companies.

Ethiopian leader post-WW2 who led western-style politics until he was seen by the public as a US pawn and was replaced by Mengistu Haile Mariam

Ethiopian socialist leader after Haile Selassie. Socialism failed in the country.

Shah Muhammad Reza Pahlavi’s reforms, known as the WHite Revolution because they came without bloodshed.
