Tehran Conference
A conference between the Big Three in Iran, where they decided that the Soviets would focus on freeing Eastern Europe while the US and Britain would take Western Europe. The Soviet Union also gained some Polish territory
Yalta Conference
Conference at the end of WW2 between the Big Three to decide the fate of Europe and plan the defeat of Japan. The US wanted Soviet help in Japan and a free and democratic Eastern Europe. The Soviets wanted some of the territories Japan had and parts of Eastern Europe as a buffer zone
Potsdam Conference
Conference in which the US and the Soviets established their Cold War problems when the US wanted freedom for Eastern Europe but the Soviets refused to give it up
Harry Truman
US president after FDR who wanted freedom for Eastern Europe, and a president during the Cold War. he invented the containment policy
Cold War
The non-war between the Soviets and US, fought over communism and governing systems with propaganda, secret operations, and an arms race

bomb more powerful than nukes developed by the US and USSR

a US president during the Cold War who was worried about the military-industrial complex
