Q

What is the role of endothelial cells in blood vessels (including secretory function)?

A

Endothelial cells regulate communication between the bloodstream and the surrounding tissue.

They also secrete:
- Vasoconstriction/vasodilation factors
- Enzymes that regulate anticoagulant (prevent fibrin format) and anti-platelet (prevents aggregation)
