E: this is due to the fact that filter theory is based on individualist concepts, therefore findings may not be applicable to collectivist cultures are often arranged. For example, Tang et al 2013 found in the US that more sexual feelings are revelaed than in china (a collectivist culture)
L; therefore filter theory suffers from cultural bias as it assumes all cultures select partners the same way westerners do.
