Effective teams are made up of members that have a range of personalities, interests, age and experience. Some common ground will help team members bond, however a variety is needed to ensure different perspectives and thinking.

Effective teams are made up of a group of employees who have worked together for a while should know each other fairly well and have developed some social connections and will therefore be more settled, confident and more productive.
Leadership
Effective teams have an effective leader that can motivate the team, minimise conflict and support the team to achieve its collective goals.
Team Identity
Effective teams have team members that identify and feel part of the team. Opportunities should be given both inside and outside the organisation to take part in activities that foster team working and identity.
Common Purpose
In effective teams, every team member shares and buys into the common purpose and goals of the team and therefore will want to contribute to its completion. The more involved they feel, the more effective they will be.
Strong Communication
Effective teams communicate regularly to ensure there is strong commitment and collaboration between team members, This helps ensure everyone feels like a team member and everyone is clear what their tasks is.
