Spreadsheets are used to perform calculations and analyse numeric data.
What are the main functions of a Spreadsheet?
The main functions are performing calculations using simple and/or complex formulae, formatting cells to display values in currency or other formats and producing charts.
How can text and cells be formatted?
Text and cells can be formatted for example using alignment, merge cells or text wrapping and information can be sorted.
What do Spreadsheets allow for?
Spreadsheets allow for accurate calculations, data to be updated if inputs need to be changed, data to be analysed using functions such as IF or SUMIF and charts to be used to help present easy to understand data.
Explain a Pivot table.
Pivot tables can be created to make the data in a worksheet more manageable by summarising it and allowing you to manipulate it in different ways. It is composed of rows, columns and data which can be summarised using calculations or filters.
