Nursing Implications

A
  1. Advise patient to avoid alcohol, products ccontaining asa, ibuprofen, naproxen, ketoprofen, and foods that may cause an increase in GI irritation
  2. Assess patient routinely for black tarry stools, diarrhea, abdominal pain, persistent headache
  3. PO dose is administered before meals preferably in AM. Do not crush, open, or chew capsules. May be administered concurrently with antacids
  4. Teach patient to avoid hazardous activities if dizziness occurs
