Incontinence r/t intrinsic sphincter deficiency

- Relevant to many prostatectomy pts after discharge and removal of their foley 7-14 days after surgery. patients are usually discharged after 2 day stay.
- Teach/reinforce pelvic muscle exercises (kegels) beginning with 5-10 repetitions and advacing to 35-50 per day

- Refer to appropriate community resources such as family counselor or sexual therapist
- Refer to man-to-man (ACS support group prior to D/C)
