  1. From aorta side opposite 2nd lumbar vertebra upper border
  2. Left renal artery is shorter and lies behind its vein
  3. Renal artery is longer and lies behind left renal vein end, IVC, and right renal vein

  1. From aorta side, just above or just below renal artery
  2. Runs lateral parallel to it
  3. Enters kidney upper and lower pole

A

Renal veins run horizontally in front of renal arteries to open into IVC left vein is longer, crosses anterior to aorta below superior mesenteric artery origin
