- Renal artery
- Accesory renal artery (30%)

A
- From aorta side opposite 2nd lumbar vertebra upper border
- Left renal artery is shorter and lies behind its vein
- Renal artery is longer and lies behind left renal vein end, IVC, and right renal vein

Accessory renal artery (30%)
A
- From aorta side, just above or just below renal artery
- Runs lateral parallel to it
- Enters kidney upper and lower pole

Venous drainage
A
Renal veins run horizontally in front of renal arteries to open into IVC left vein is longer, crosses anterior to aorta below superior mesenteric artery origin

Lymph drainage
A
To hilar lymph nodes around renal artery then to para-aortic lymph nodes

Nerve supply
A
Sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers from renal plexus (around renal artery) which is derived from celiac plexus
