Hepatic Artery Flashcards

1
Q

Course and relations

A
  1. Runs forwards and to right
  2. Reach superior border of duodenum 1st part (common hepatic artery)
  3. Ascends in lesser omentum free border where it lies in front of portal vein and to left of common bile duct (proper hepatic artery)
  4. Ends at porta hepatis by dividing into right and left terminal branches

Q

Right and left terminals

A
  1. Pass through porta hepatis
  2. Supply right and left liver lobes

Q

Gastroduodenal

A

Arises just above duodenum and descends behind middle of 1st part where it is related to:
1. Anterior: 2nd inch of duodenum 1st part
2. Posterior: portal vein
3. On right: common bile duct
Not accompanied by vein
