By fleshy digitations from outer surfaces and lower borders of lower 8 ribs, interdigitating with Serratus anterior and Lattismus dorsi

Downwards, forwards, and medial

Insertion
A
- By fleshy fibers into anterior 1/2 of iliac crest outer lip
- By aponeurosis into xiphoid process, linea alba, symphysis pubis, and pubic crest
- Its lower free border is folded upon itself forming Inguinal ligament which is attached to pubic tubercle medial and ASIS lateral
