lesions of mucous membrane; infection if liver, spleen, bone marrow, & lymph nodes
leishmaniasis
asymptomatic; pass portions of helminth
tapeworm infestation
cramping, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain
viral gastroenteritis
sudden onset of high fever, vomiting, rash, extremely low BP, & sore throat
staphylococcal TSS
white vaginal discharge with a “fishy” odor
bacterial vaginosis
white plaque on affected tissue
candidiasis
frequent, urgent, painful urination; cloudy & bloody urine; may have strong, foul odor; if too severe, may have mental confusion
bacterial uti
inflammation of abdomen; ectopic pregnancy; sterility
pelvic inflammatory disease
primary: small, painless lesions (chancre)
secondary: rash
latent period: can last several years
tertiary: dementia, blindness, paralysis, heart failure, syphalytic gummas
syphilis
infected hair; red, swollen, & pus-filled
folliculitis
intense itching (especially at night); pimple-like bumps
scabies
bump that can range from painless to painful/itching
warts
hypo/hyperpigmented patches of scaly skin (common on trunk, shoulders, arms)
pityriasis versacolor
asymptomatic; severe diarrhea; colitis; appendicitis; bloody mucus/stool; lesions
amebiasis
aysmptomatic; GI stress; rotten egg smelling stool
giardiasis
