What is the design basis function of the Containment Air Monitoring System?
Monitor and prevent significant radiation, hydrogen and O2 buildup as indication of fission product release during LOCA;
Minimize risk of combustible atmosphere following DBA LOCA - Nitrogen inerting supports
Where is CAM monitored and what is the power source?
MCR 902-55(-56) - powered from MCC 28-2 (29-3)
- 29-3 lost during load shedding and will not be auto recovered upon Bus 29 restore. Bus 29 UV msut be reset and 29-3 breaker closed.
What is initiation logiv for CAM monitoring at local panels?
Rad detectors provide input to indicatores and recorders in MCR and alarm if DW monitors see 20R/Hr.
- Both A & B channels must see high drywell signal to cause Group 2 Isolation
Where does the DW O2 analyzer pull from and return to?
Pull: RB Vent exhaust; DW Coolers 2E & G, and Torus
Returns back to DW
What signal impacts Oxygen analyzer and how does it respond?
Group II Isolation signal sends close signal to sample isolation valves
What is the normal configuration of the Containment H2/O2 analyzers?
Normally in standby - initiated via CS initation logic to provide Post accident monitoring of DW and Torus
What Containment Air Monitoring Systems are functional following a LOCA?
The COntainment H2/O2 analyzers

What signals cause DW CAM to react and how does it react?
Closed on Group II Isolation, Loss of IA, or Loss of Instrument Bus.
What is the function of the Drywell CAM
Sample flows through charcoal cartridge and filter patper and is monitored by a detector to indicated DW environment conditions.
What causes a Group II Isolation?
DW Pressure +2psig
RX Level +8in
DW Rad Level 30R/Hr
What are the set points for DW/Torus Rad Levels?
High Rad Alarm 20R/hr
G2 Isolation with both channels 30R/hr
What is DW H2 Alarm Set?
3.5% - entry to DEOP
