Child Practical Flashcards
Aim
To investigate whether attachment type as a child will affect your adult romantic attachment style
Null hypothesis
There will be no difference in their adult attachment style, depending on whether they were parented warmly by chance
Research hypothesis
Participants will be significantly more likely to have a secure adult attachment if parented warmly
Type of hypothesis
One tailed
Procedure
Gave them online questionnaire, giving them numbers for their identity ad gained informed consent
Do not be near when completed
Type of sampling
Opportunity
Adults in relationships over 21
Type of test used
Chi-squared
Conditions chi squared needs
Independent groups
Test of difference
Norminal data
Conclusion
As such people who describe their relationship as warm are not more likely to show a secure adult attachment, except by chance
Result
For a chi squared test a one tailed hypothesis, df=1 and p<0.05, the critical value is 2.71
Our observed value of chi was 0.22
Since the observed value is less than the critical value, results are not significant
Consequently, we reject the Hr and accept the H0
