If You invoke sth it means that You use it to support your point or explain your action.
People do invoke offence when they just have a political disagreement & on occasions people that suffer discrimination or exclusion.
Offensive
People can take offence & be offended by sth that is offensive.

It’s used to criticise people or groups
that are seen to be very easily offended or upset by things that others say.
There is usually a political side to it too.
People who used this tend to be from the political right & they usually use it about those on the political left, particularly millennials-young, socially aware adults.
Where the so called snowflakes surely have a point is this, societies are entitled to make cetain things taboo … .

Some people may feel proud to be a snowflake because it menas
they are standing up for a particular standards, they have a level of decency & social responsibility that is higher than of those who are calling them snowflakes.
