Archaic is adj.;

I think it’s a bit of an archaic concept these days & I’m a bit of commitment phobe.
Just like your fashion sense.

Love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage.
Well they’re quite rare these days, not an everyday sight.

A trend is the direction that sth is changing overtime.

When it comes to marriage, the trend is for fewer marriages.
Whatever the current number, the trend is downwards.
Are we falling out of love with marriage?

Concept

Concept is another word for an idea, or belief.

So an archaic concept, is an old fashioned idea/belief.

How many opposite sex marriage were there in 2015?
Around 239,000.
I’m not that enthusiastic about the idea of marriage.

In general, I think it’s quite good.
It has a very stabilising effect on society & it declares publicly to the world that You have found the right person for you& that you’re in a committed relationship.

Phobe

The “suffix” phobe means someone who is afraid of sth.

In some cases it can be used as a standalone word but it means the same.
You’re obviously a compliment phobe!
You’re afraid of saying nice things about someone, so You always say sth nasty as well.

Stabilising is adj., sth that is stable is strong.

We’ll use ropes to stabilize the platform.
The pilots were able to stabilize the airplane and land safely.

I think it’s a bit of an archaic concept these days & I’m a bit of commitment phobe,
I don’t like the idea of signing a piece of paper that says … .

Commitment means being with one person & giving up the idea of being free and do whatever you want & see whoever you want romantically.

You are in a commited relationship when you are married.
