A

A cheap & popular British meal made of sausage & mashed potato. A classic British dish.

My favourite recipe is for bangers & mash. Cooking is a big part of our lives, sth pleasurable we do with others. & a way of discovering the flavours & tastes of other cultures.
How did it come to be known as this?

Mortar & pestle

A

Cooking equipment made of bowl(the mortar) & a heavy stone(pestle) which is used to grind ingredients together.

Many traditional spices & ingredients were no longer being used. Green bananas called plantains. They would use a mortar & pestle to actually pound it.

Pound

A

To pound sth, to crush it into a paste or powder.

The traditiona method was to pound fufu. This represented an unwelcome departure from ancestral ways of cooking & she decided sth has to be done.
