A
- one of most common causes of vertigo
- usually onset > 55 years

Clinical features in BPPV
A
- sudden onset vertigo provoked by changes in head position
- nausea and vomiting
- episodes last 10-20s
- Dix-hallpike positive, rotatary nystagmus

Testing for BPPV
A
- perform Dix-hallpike manaeouver
- test will be positive, invoking vertigo
- will see rotatary nystagmus
