- autoimmune (autoantibodies, immunoglobins)

Managing alcoholic liver disease
A
- alcohol abstinence
- weight loss
- vaccinations
- nutrition (high protein diet)
- acute ALD - prednisolone
- end stage - liver transplant (must be alcohol free > 6 months)

Complications of alcoholic liver disease
A
- hepatic encephalopathy (ammonia accumulation; lactulose)
- portal hypertension (once cirrhosis established)
- hepato-renal syndrome
- hepatocellular carcinoma
