- confusion, disorientation
- intrusive thoughts
- derealisation/depersonalisation
behaviours:
- avoidance
- hypervigilance
physiological:
- tachy, hypertension
- sweating, trembling

Diagnosing acute stress reaction
A
symptoms present and last for < 4 weeks

Differentials for acute stress reaction
A
- PTSD (> 4 weeks)
- panic disorders (usually no clear trigger)
- adjustment disorder (more gradual onset, lasts months)
