cargo that normally fill a space more than 50-cubic feet per ton
light cargo
a vessel wherein the loading and discharge of goods are carried out by cranes or derricks.
lift-on lift-off vessel
amount collected for navigational aid to the ship, and is charged per net or gross register ton
light dues
the total weight of a huff, machinery, fittings, spare parts, and all the ship’s permanent equipment, and water in boilers (in case of steamship)
light displacement
refers to a motor vehicle, whether four-wheeler drive or not, such as commuter vans, utility vehicles, sports utility vehicle (SUVs) and the like, except pickups
Light commercial vehicle
a boat with flat bottom designed for transport of cargo between ports or through navigable waters. It is used in assisting the loading and unloading of goods.

an element of dumping which means that an imported article is, identical or comparable in all respects with a local product, or if not, has characteristics that closely resemble the latter.

an article that is not commercially interchangeable with an imported merchandise, but resembles it in respects, provided that the difference I the cost of production does not exceed 20%

a bill of lading issued by the ship owner or charterer to a shipper, who is not related to the charter.
linear bill of lading
functions the decision-making functions on daily operations, such as traffic management of goods, warehousing, and packaging.
line functions
a shipment that moves between cities and over distances farther than 100 to 150 miles
line-haul shipment
a freight rate system that includes the cost for ocean cargo transport and loading. it, however, excludes the cost of cargo discharge.
liner in free out
a marine cargo insurance clause that provides coverage to cargo damage due to a fortuitous event, or negligence, error of judgment; or incompetence of any person aboard the ship.
liner negligence clause
a company that regularly transports goods and passengers over sea or ocean routes.
liner shipping company
a service wherein a common carrier, with fixed schedules and itinerary of ports is hired to transport passengers and goods. The service receives freight in accordance with tariffs, based on volume weight, or value of cargo. Normally, liner companies operate their own vessels regularly, but some switch their ships from one liner system to another.
liner service
a system wherein the freight includes the cost of cargo loading and discharge; subject to the custom of the port.
