a mode of payment in which a bank or an intermediary transfers title documents to the buyer upon payment in cash.
cash against documents
a bond in cash filed by an importer with Customs when the declared value of goods is being contested by Customs; or to secure the interest of government prior to release of a shipment
cash bond
check a check drawn by the cashier (manager) of a bank, and drawn against the bank itself.
cashier’s check
full payment made prior to arrival of a shipment. This method is often used in a small purchases or when the goods are built to order, such as specialized machinery.
cash in advance
payments made at the time of delivery of goods.
cash on delivery
a mode of payment wherein the exporter is paid in cash for the shipment.
cash payment
a method of cash payment made at the time of order, and the transaction becomes binding on both buyer and seller

an element of dumping that refers to the relationship between an economic injury suffered by a nation’s domestic industry and the dumping of goods threat
casual link
literally means: “Let the buyer beware.” A principle in sales that warns the buyer to be cautious in checking the price and quality of goods
caveat emptor
a place in a vessel where a container can be arranged.
cell
steel bars and rails of a vessel used to steer containers during loading and unloading of cargoes

the location of a cell aboard the vessel.

a part of U.S. Customs Automated Commercial System that effects accurate and timely collection and submission of entry summary data

refers to the One-Stop Shop for Tax Credit and Duty Drawback Center (of the Philippine Department of finance) to which claims for tax refunds are being processed

an agency of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry that manages export promotion, trade fairs, and exhibits, trade missions and other promotional activities.

a regional trade arrangement among Costa Rica (1962), El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, signed in 1960.

a document issued by the Philippine Insurance Commission authorizing a surety to do business with Customs as a bonding firm.
certificate of authority
a certificate issued by a ship classification society stating the class under which a vessel is registered.
certificate of classification
a certificate obtained prior to export of a shipment, attesting to the fact that it complies with the standards prescribed by the importing country.
certificate of conformity
a document signed by the vessel’s master, owner, and charterer, setting forth the date and hour of the ship’s delivery, her condition and that of her bunkers, ballast, volume of water for boilers, and coal (in the case of steamship)
