dirty oil
amount of money by a ship’s agent and recovered from the carrier.
disbursement
a clause in a cargo marine insurance policy that enumerates the additional insurance allowed over and above the agreed value of hull and machinery
disbursement clause
a marine insurance that covers disbursements (to make the ship fit for sea voyage) not exceeding 10% of the insured value of the ship’s hull and machinery.

discharge
the purchase by a bank or finance house of a draft or bill of exchange, at face value less interest
discount
a certain percentage deducted from the original floor price of an article sold at auctions

the report submitted by the examiner, spot-checker, or apprehending officer showing the difference between the declared and the actual contents of a shipment. The report is the basis of re-assessment of correct duties and taxes, or forfeiture of a shipment
discrepancy report
often referred to as a managed account, an arrangement in which the holder of an account gives power of attorney to someone else, often a broker, to buy and sell goods without prior approval of the account holder.
discretionary account
also referred to as reliatory duty, it is imposed on imported goods (even up to 100% ad valorem) that discriminate against Philippine commerce.
discriminatory duty
to schedule and send a means of transport off, like a vessel or aircraft.
dispatch
similar to dispatch note, it advises the consignee on the details of the shipment and the fact of its delivery.
