Lesson 56: Issue practice 3 – change control Flashcards
What is the name of the process by which changes that may affect the project baseline are identified, assessed, approved, rejected, or deferred?
The change control process is used for dealing with change requests.
What is a ‘change budget,’ and which PRINCE2 role decides on changes?
The money set aside in a plan to cover changes. A change budget is decided on at the start of a project, and the change authority role decides on the changes.
What is the change authority, and can the project board have change control authority?
A person or group to which the project board may delegate responsibility for considering requests for change or off-specifications. The project board can make decisions on change and will often delegate responsibility for more minor changes.
What is it called if the change authority people allow the project to receive an off-specification product from the supplier that does not meet the required specification?
This is called a concession.
A concession is an off-specification accepted by the project board (change authority) without corrective action.
A concession is always associated with an off-specification.
Who can decide on changes?
The project board is the ultimate authority for reviewing and approving requests for change and off-specifications. They may delegate to a ‘change authority’ if they expect many requests and take on this role themselves if they expect few change requests.
